This paper reviews the five species groups and 14 constituent species of the Neotropical dung beetle genus Sulcophanaeus. A short treatment of the genus includes an illustrated key to species groups. Each species-group treatment includes group and species diagnoses and an illustrated key to constituent species. All the reviewed species are shown on colour photographs showing their sexual dimorfism or variability.
